Cowboy Sweetheart
I want to be a cowboy sweetheart
I want to see him tip his hat
To smile and say “Howdy Mam”
Just because I like that.
I want to drink coffee from an old tin cup
And eat some bacon and some beans
I want to sit around the fire
And hear the coyote as he sings.
I want to ride in his saddle
Out in the open air
Running against the wind
Without any kind of care.
I want to feel the tickle of his mustache
I want to be the twinkle in his eye
I want to hear him chuckle
So hard it makes him cry.
I want to hold his strong rough hands
And experience his soft heart
I will snuggle in beside him
Because I like that part.
I want to hear stories of his horse
About his life down on the ranch
What he did as a buckaroo
Because I want the chance
To throw my arms around him
And hold as tight as I can
Maybe steal a kiss or two
From this very handsome man.
Now I know what you’re thinkin
This girl she wants too much
It seems she’s way too selfish
But there’s really no such
Thing as bein too greedy
When it comes to huggin and a kissin
Cuz pard if you aint done that
Then you’ve really been a missin
But don’t be gettin me wrong
I’m not so full of greed
No, it’s not all about
What I want or need
For when it comes right down to it
I guess you ought to see
That what I’m really hopin for
Is this cowboy…to want me.
